Kids Answers, Magazine

I was invited by the Editor-in-Chief of Kids Answers to assist with the design of the magazine. In addition to editorial layout, I contributed illustrations for several issues, including Kids Answers 20.4 and 20.3. Altogether, I contributed to the production of four magazines annually.

Kids Answers, 20.4

I enjoyed designing for Kids Answers (20.4). Finding high-quality photos of the Portuguese Man O’ War and balancing the copy was a fun and exciting challenge. I also enjoyed creating illustrations for Big Questions, such as the “Why Is the Sky Blue?” illustration. Another highlight was working on the Physics of Fun illustrations, where I got to create playful scenes with little people having fun.

Kids Answers, 20.3

Do you know how difficult it is to tell the difference between a raven and a crow? I had a blast designing for Kids Answers 20.3. Creating the layout for Created Creature was especially fun—particularly the challenge of distinguishing photos of ravens versus crows on Getty Images. Surprisingly, a lot of people mix the two up, even some of the best photographers.

I also enjoyed creating illustrations for Big Questions again, including “Some Scientists Believe the World Is Expanding—What Does That Mean and Is It True?” and “Why Isn’t a Clover a Good Example of the Trinity? This time around, I also created cute little creatures on the iPad Pro, including a raven in a cowboy hat, a hedgehog talking to a cat, and even a potato.
